I had a few rolling runs against a vvl last week.
VVL had the basic mods... management, induction, header and exhaust.
All runs had the same result more or less: rolling in 1st he edges me, 2nd gear and I fall 2 his backdoor, into 3rd and I stop falling back, mid 3rd I close the gap and level by end of 3rd. Into 4th gear and I start pulling away.
This seems to be a common result for me when rolling against these vvl's. It seems if you are 2 low in the Rev range the s2k takes quite a while to reach the 9k rpm limit meaning the vvl will hit 2nd gear before you and start edging, solution : roll in vtec or launch.
Well done to the vvl, gave me a run 4 my money till end of 3rd
